Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to significantly reduce soil erosion and polluted runoff sources to Forest Lake, foster long-term stewardship, and, ultimately, improve water quality.

This project offers free technical assistance to landowners, towns and private road associations in order to address erosion problems.  Financial assistance is also available to help cover the cost of improvements.

Failed retaining wall (left) repaired with gabion baskets filled with 30 tons of stone (right).  Volunteers worked three days to hand place the stone to stabilize the bank.
