District Educator, Ali Clift, Wins Prestigious Award
Ali Clift, District Educator, was recently awarded the Maine Water Environment Association Stormwater Award at the Fall Convention in Maine.
About her time in the industry, Ali remarks: “I've been working in stormwater for 7 years. Stormwater is a great field to work in because you get to solve complex problems while working with a wide variety of experts in engineering, planning, landscape design, data collection and analysis, policy, and education. Our stormwater infrastructure is routinely undervalued because it was purposefully designed to get water out of sight and out of mind as fast as possible. This strategy doesn't work as well with our more frequent and larger storms, increasing development, and greater insight into water pollutants.”
In the future, Ali sees herself continuing to directly educate and serve local communities. “My goals are to help our communities better understand their local stormwater issues and to help our municipal staff and leadership have the resources they need to make informed stormwater policies and projects,” she says.
Congratulations, Ali!
