Highland Lake Grant Project Updates

We have been hard at work with the Highland Lake Association and the Highland Lake Leadership Team (HLLT) to improve Highland Lake’s water quality through education efforts and on-the-ground improvements. The team has successfully provided road improvements as well as a private road workshop. We have also been educating residents about winter salt use, proper pet waste management, septic maintenance, and overall watershed awareness.

This grant-based project is funded by EPA Section 319 Clean Water Act funds administered by Maine DEP. This project is implemented by the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District in partnership with HLLT and HLA, the Town of Windham, and the Town of Falmouth.
