2024 Envirothon State Competition

10 teams of high school students traveled to Quarry Roads Trail Park in Waterville for the 2024 Envirothon state competition. All of theses teams had won their regional competition with the winner of the state competition going to New York for the international competition later this summer. The students are tested on their knowledge in Soils, Aquatics, Wildlife, Forestry, and Current Issues. The Current Issue topic was renewable energy and requires the students to make a presentation for the judges. Team Green from Spruce Mountain High School won and will represent Maine in Geneva, NY for the national competition.

Wish them luck!

The Envirothon program is coordinated by Dale Finseth of Kennebec County SWCD and supported by the Maine Association of Conservation Districts.
