Inspections at Long Creek Watershed

District Technician, Amren Frechette, has been busy working on environmental inspections at the Long Creek Watershed area in South Portland. This unique geological area is well-urbanized and requires special considerations and investments to maintain the health of the surrounding Long Creek wetland and habitat.

During annual parcel inspections, technicians, staff and landowners / representatives focus on inspecting stormwater infrastructure, catch basins, BMPs, dumpster and waste management and erosion issues to help prevent pollution.

The team gives suggested recommendations and requests to the landowners to improve stormwater management and waste management on their site.

Recent visits included Ecomaine, Portland Public Works, and Diodes Incorporated facilities in South Portland, Maine.
