Sixth grade students learn about clean water and watersheds

The 6th grade science classes at Scarborough Middle School used lessons kits and models provided by the Portland Water District to investigate the characteristics of clean water. With Ali and Kristie from the District, the students compared water samples, used models to show how water flows in an a watershed, and played a game that follows trout down a river. The class even went outside to survey the stormwater drains around the school campus.

These lessons are funded by the Portland Water District and the town of Scarborough and led by the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District.
