The District is hiring an Assistant District Engineer to support our soil and water conservation programs. The Assistant engineer will work with the District Engineer and the Technical Team. The Assistant Engineer will work with private landowners and road and lake associations; contribute to diverse projects ranging from stream crossing restorations to urban development practices; assist municipalities and regulators preparing for climate change impacts to soil and water resources; and much more. A Look at Mare Brook’s Next Decade
In working with the Town of Brunswick, Maine Department of Environmental Protection (Maine DEP), and at least a dozen additional interested organizations, Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District (District) assisted in completing a 10-year plan outlining actions needed to restore Mare Brook’s water quality. Mare Brook is located in Brunswick, ME and is currently listed as impaired due to poor macroinvertebrate sampling results and poor macroinvertebrate habitat.
